This small luxury hotel can be found sitting on the shores of the D’Entrecateaux Channel, and is a mere 15 minutes south of the city of Hobart. Salamanca Place, which plays host to a number of art galleries, restaurants, and craft shops, can be found a short distance away from the Villa Howden. The Hobart airport is approximately 30 minutes away from the Villa Howden.

A total of 10 individually styled accommodation suites are available in the Villa Howden. Many of these units offer their occupants views over the North West Bay and out toward the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. All of the furniture in these rooms is either antique or custom made; the Tower Suite also includes a claw foot bathtub.

The Villa Howden was opened in April of 2008 and is one of southern Tasmania’s newest boutique hotels. This property was named after the French explorer Antoine Bruni of Entrecasteaux, the person that originally chartered the channel in the 18th century. Guests staying in this property can dine on delicious meals made with fresh produce from the local farms and fishermen and prepared by a personal chef.
